Presence information is provided for DiVitas clients not only to report availability but also reachability mode. A user sets their availability by selecting the desired option on the availability screen. Other DiVitas clients will have this information displayed in their contacts list. For example, if one DiVitas user is on a phone call, the presence of that user will be dynamically changed to indicate this. A user can add more information about their presence by customizing their availability message.

Communicate short messages when phone calls are not ideal

Instant Messaging is supported on the DiVitas Client similar to IM which is available today on a desktop or laptop. Instant messaging among the DiVitas client community, provides an additional mode for efficient communication. However, unlike computer-based IM, DiVitas Messaging is integrated with the Presence application such that messages pop up to users only when their presence status shows them to be available to receive IM. Otherwise, DiVitas will queue them in the messaging folder for later review.
