DiVitas Networks Announces Multiple Customer Deployments of Its New and Improved Mobile Unified Communications Solution

Mobile Workers Depend on DiVitas for their Day-to-Day Job Functions

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CALIF., Sept. 22, 2008 – DiVitas Networks™, the leader in Mobile Unified Communications (Mobile UC), today announced it has made significant traction with customers worldwide with its latest software release of the DiVitas Mobile UC Solution.

DiVitas mobilizes corporate voice and messaging (deskphone, voicemail, contacts, IM and Presence) for organizations by unifying these applications onto smartphones. The DiVitas Mobile UC solution can run on WiFi networks, cellular networks or both, making users more reachable, responsive and productive.  The DiVitas solution leverages WiFi networks to increase coverage and reduce costs.

Companies across a wide range of industries (Healthcare, Education, Carriers, Judicial and County government) have now deployed the new DiVitas Mobile UC solution and are experiencing dramatic productivity enhancements and cost savings.

“We are placing more and more people out in the field,” said Greg Ireland, CEO for the 13th Judicial District Court in Albuquerque, NM.  “Prior to DiVitas, they had been carrying just regular cell phones – sometimes they have service, sometimes they don’t, so communication was irregular. We are saving a lot of money in carrier and equipment costs, while simultaneously making our mobile employees – who represent a significant part of the court staff – more productive and accessible.”

DiVitas Extends Productivity and Cost Savings Benefits to Different Vertical Markets

Carrier – Sawtel

  • DiVitas to provide a new mobility component to enable them to offer a complete Unified Communications solution along with quality voice over WiFi (VoWiFi).
  • Providing a superior mobile solution in areas where cellular service is spotty.  200,000 Sawtel subscribers will be enabled once fully deployed.

Judicial – Albuquerque 13th Judicial District Court

  • Saving taxpayers money while increasing staff efficiencies.
  • Began Mobile UC deployment to staff attorneys, probation officers and judges in lieu of high cost deskphones.  Expect to double efficiency by end of year.

Healthcare – University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Medical Center

  • Provide healthcare staff continuous connectivity while on campus where WiFi coverage is spotty.
  • Doctors are now continuously available while at work.  Seamless roaming prevents dropped calls.  Single number reach prevents having to provide others their personal cell number.

County Government – Bernalillo County, New Mexico

  • Increase worker productivity through mobile usage without increasing existing spend.
  • VoWiFi significantly decreases mobile expenses allowing 2X mobile deployments.  County workers obtain new assignments via mobile SAP Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system while in the field.

Education New College Durham (United Kingdom)

  • Increase collaboration of its highly mobile staff at the lowest cost possible.
  • All staff employees are now continuously available by voice, email, IM and Presence.  Seamless roaming dramatically increases efficiencies by making staff always available while on campus.

“With DiVitas we are not only seeing a huge cut in our overall monthly cell phone bills but we are also seeing a tremendous spike in productivity,” said Paul Roybal, CIO for Bernalillo County, the largest county in the state of New Mexico. “DiVitas’s single number reach combined with seamless roaming, enables my team to be continuously connected – no matter where they are located. We have about 500 cell phones in the field now and are looking to double that number thanks to the cost savings and productivity gains we are seeing after implementing DiVitas.”

Improvements to DiVitas Client – Focus on Ease of Use for End Users

  • New Graphical User Interface on DiVitas Client – The DiVitas 2.0 Client is a full featured Mobile UC client that is customizable, localizable and very easy to use. Meaningful Icons provide information at a glance about items needing action such as voicemail and queued text messages. Graphically setting an individual’s Presence status informs others of the best communication method to use (i.e. voice or text). When a user’s Presence status changes (i.e. on the phone or in a meeting), his/her Presence display dynamically changes on all networked clients in order to universally reflect the updated status. A Personal Broadcast Message, or Micro Blog, is displayed along with the user’s extension and name so that callers can quickly see additional personalized information about a user such as location and activity. For example, during a recent trip to the Far East, DiVitas CEO continuously kept the company updated via his DiVitas micro-blog.  Virtually all DiVitas Client operations are presented in graphical form.
  • PBX Features Extended Over Cellular – DiVitas now offers mid-call features over any network including cellular. Abbreviated Dialing, Call Transfer, Call Waiting, Call Hold/Resume, and Call Conferencing are all now supported over Cellular and WiFi. DiVitas integrates with existing PBXs to adhere to existing dial-plan rules and policies.  DiVitas also allows customers to specify custom dial-plans specifically tied to mobile use.
  • Visual voice mail – Single Business Voicemail Box- DiVitas allows users to access voice mail visually and in any order as opposed to the order in which it arrives. Voice mail can be viewed and accessed just like email and can be downloaded and listened to at a later time.
  • Unparalleled Voice and Call Quality - To ensure the highest level of voice quality, DiVitas developed its own Voice Quality Engine (VQE). DiVitas VQE provides consistently high quality voice over any supported network.
  • Enterprise-class management and control – DiVitas focuses on the IT department by providing tools that enable administrators to effectively and efficiently install, manage and troubleshoot the system.  Wizard-based server configuration, Over-The-Air (OTA) provisioning of the client software and on-demand debugging make the system very easy to deploy and manage -- and requires minimal training.  The solution also includes advanced tools for ROI and usage analytics.

“I had a chance to demo the new version of the DiVitas Client recently,” said Zeus Kerravala, senior vice president at the analyst firm Yankee Group. I must say I was very impressed. I think DiVitas has expanded the definition of FMC past just being voice to really driving Mobile Unified Communications. In fact, I think it's fair to say that DiVitas has stepped into a leadership position in this market.”
